How We Package Your Pet Portrait
Nicholas has taken a whole range of photos of me packing one of his oil paintings. The pencil drawings are packed exactly the same as this. Although in a beautiful teal coloured tissue paper and ribbon! Every one of our custom pet portraits is carefully packed using professional quality materials. It's our priority that your pet portraits arrive safely at your door. Scroll down to see how it all happens and if Lily our dog gives the seal of approval!
Our Professional Packaging Process
Packing our pet portraits is a long process, it probably takes three quarters of an hour from start to finish. It has to be perfect so that the un-boxing experience is perfect when our clients open them.

Stickers
Each completed pet portrait undergoes a final check to ensure everything is perfect. The oil portraits then have a sticker with our details on, attached to the back of the canvas.

Protective Covering
We carefully place cellophane over the artwork to protect it and prevent any contact with packaging materials.

Cellophane
The cellophane comes on a roll and is perfect for wrapping up our portraits.
Secure Wrapping and Protection
The first stage of the packing process

Scotch Tape
I secure the cellophane with scotch tape on the back so nothing is actually attached to either the paper or the canvas.

Tissue Paper
The portrait is laid onto tissue paper with the presentation box underneath ready for photos to send to the client.

Care Leaflets
We provide our clients with care leaflets dedicated to either pencil or oil, whichever portrait they have commissioned. Along with a few business cards of course.
Taking Photos for Clients
I always take photos of the portraits being packed and send them to our clients.

Laying out the Ribbon
Here you can see I am laying everything out ready to photograph for our clients to see the finished product.

Photos
Nicholas took a photo of me... taking a photo of the scene on our plan chest.

Time to Pack
Now it's time to pack everything up carefully, placing the portrait in the tissue paper.
Seal of Approval
Your packaged portrait receives our final seal of approval before being handed to our trusted couriers for safe delivery to your door.

Seal of Approval!
The tissue paper is securely sealed with one of our logo stickers.

Bringing it all Together
Everything is placed in the presentation box along with the care leaflets.

Tied with Care
I then tie the ribbon neatly so the presentation box is secure.
Closing The Lid
Putting everything together in the presentation box is emotional. Saying goodbye to a piece of artwork that we won't ever see again is hard. However we know it will be loved when it arrives to its destination.

Ribbon Trimmed
The edges of the ribbon are always trimmed so that they have neat edges. A sharp pair of scissors is essential!

Thank You Notes
I always include a personal hand written note to our clients. I feel that the personal touch of a hand written letter is being lost these days.

Personalized
I use a fine black art pen to hand write all of my cards and hope that my handwriting is not only legible but looks lovely and arty too!
The Final Touches
The finishing touches are super important in our packaging process. Nothing is rushed or hurried.

Hand Written Note
My hand written note is placed in the envelope and slipped under the ribbon, ready for our clients to receive.

Second Seal of Approval
The final seal of a approval is placed on the presentation box, the final touch to the overall package.

Foam Wrap
One of my favourite stages is wrapping the box in foamwrap. It's like wrapping it in a warm hug.
Ready for Safe Delivery
Next is packing it in a double walled cardboard box.

Boxing
Our portraits, whether a pencil drawing or an oil painting, are packed into our double walled cardboard boxes.

Fragile
Once secured, the fragile tape is places around the edge.

Weights and Measures
The portraits are all weighed and measured ready for booking in with the courier.
Melanie - At My Desk
